Tri Focal Lenses

Tri Focal Lenses: An All-in-One Solution

People with varying levels of vision acuity, especially people who are getting older and beginning to experience vision changes due to age, may need to have more than one prescription for glasses: Reading glasses or computer glasses to help with small print close-up, distance glasses to help with seeing off in the distance, and another pair for everything else in between. However, constantly switching glasses or setting a pair on one's head while trying to peer through a second can be annoying. That’s where the mighty tri focal lenses may be necessary. Richardson Eye Associates in Richardson, TX, can fit you for these lenses.

Tri Focal Lenses

For Those Who Do Not Want to or Can't Switch Glasses

If you've ever been in a situation where you had to switch back and forth between something like sunglasses and reading glasses, or driving glasses and computer glasses, you know that it can be hard to keep track of where you put each pair. Not to mention the sheer annoyance of looking at something and realizing you forgot to put the right pair of glasses on. With tri focal lenses, you have all three prescriptions for needed vision fields in one lens. The order of the lenses can even be customized based on your preferences and needs.

Trifocals do take some time to get used to and can take some training to ensure you’re always looking through the correct lens. If you've used bifocals before, it shouldn't take long for you to get used to having that third field. If you've never used bifocals or trifocals before, it could take longer. Your eye doctor will let you know approximately how long you should give the lenses before returning to have them re-evaluated.

Give the Lenses a Try

You might already know that you prefer having a full lens dedicated to one prescription. However, if you think you might prefer to have all your prescription options in front of your face all at the same time, tri focal lenses are a perfect solution.
